Lacuna delivers products of the highest quality and is always ready to provide guidance on the installation of our folding doors and windows. It is important to clarify the installation method from the outset to ensure that the folding door or window is delivered in the correct size and with the right specifications.

THE IMPORTANT TOP FRAME

Each door panel can weigh up to 80 kg, and the structural element above the folding door must be able to support up to 100 kg per linear meter of opening, with a maximum deflection of 3 mm—unless a fiber-reinforced top frame is chosen. However, most door panels weigh approximately 40–50 kg, which significantly reduces the load on the structure above the façade folding door.

With its integrated running track, Lacuna’s top frame is more precise than systems with manually installed tracks. Since correct installation of the top frame is crucial to the final result, the integrated track ensures not only high precision but also faster installation and a much better finish.

SUSTAINABLE LINTEL

Since a Lacuna folding door is suspended from a running track in the top frame, it must be mounted in a lintel that is sufficiently stable to prevent deflection under the weight of the door panels. In more demanding cases, the top frame can be supplied in various heights and even reinforced with fiber, allowing the strength to be adapted to the specific conditions.

As Lacuna offers solutions in countless widths and heights, there is no universal formula for dimensioning the lintel.
